5 January
Adolf Hitler presented to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Jozefu Beck offer to join the free city of Danzig K to the Third Reich.
March 1939
March 14th
The dismissed head of the autonomous government of Slovakia proclaimed the independence of the country and put himself under the defense of the German Reich.
March 15th
German troops entered Prague. Establishment of the Tectorator of Bohemia and Moravia.
March 17
Arrival at Westerplatte of the first line of soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Division of the Legion from Kielce under the command of Lieutenant Leon Poyaka (23 soldiers).
21 March
Ribbentropp told Leipzig that Germany would demand their rights to Gdansk even during armed conflict.
March 22.
At night, Vesterplatte was declared an emergency in connection with the capture of the Germans of the Lithuanian port in Klaipeda.
April 1939
April 3
Adolf Hitler signed an order about the start of preparation for war with Poland (Weiss Plan).
April 28.
In speech in Reichstag, Hitler announced a non-aggression pact with Poland. Height of tension in Gdansk. Nazis Gdansk no longer hide their desire to attach Gdansk to Rehih. Führer violated the 1934 German-British Maritime Agreement.
May 1939
5 May
Beck performance in the Sejm. It categorically refused the requirements of Germany on the accession of Gdansk to Germany.
22nd of May
Germany and Italy subscribe a "pact" about mutual assistance.
June 1939
June 7.
The signing of Herman-Estonian and German-Lithuanian Covenants on nonsense in Berlin.
June 17
Joseph Goebbels spoke, full threats to Poland, in the Volnoye Town of Gdansk.
August 1939
August 23
Signing the Molotov Ribbentrop Covenant between the Third Reich and the USSR. At the station Troil (now Gdansk-Pzesovad), the Germans stopped a wagon with military materials for Westerplatte.
25-th of August
Training battleship "Schleswig-Holstein" arrives in Gdansk with the visit of courtesy. In the evening, the order about the beginning of the war with Poland on August 26 at 04:30 was suspended. Border detachments reflected the attack of the Yablonian tunnel and the station bridges. The collision, reduced to the diplomatic incident, was the result of the cancellation of the initial attack by the Hitler.
August 28
German saboteurs blew up the station in Tarnov. Numerous sabotage shares throughout the border, murder of Poles and arson.
August 29.
