Following its recent expansion in Latin America, Pragmatic Play continues to expand its global presence by crossing the South Atlantic and entering into an agreement with one of South Africa's leading sports betting operators, Playbet, and planning future deals with betting companies in Ghana. The deal significantly increases the provider's presence in a market it considers "key."
Under the multi-vertical agreement, the online betting platform's portfolio has been strengthened by adding all Pragmatic Play products - slots, live casino and virtual sports. With the help of the operator's software provider, Aardvark Technologies, customers of the Johannesburg-headquartered operator have had access to the three verticals since Feb. 1.
Pragmatic players in South Africa now have access to games such as the Greek mythology-themed Gates of Olympus, which won Game of the Year at the Nov. 25, 2021 EGR Operator Awards, and player favorites Wolf Gold and Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, which transforms the hit 2019 Sweet Bonanza slot into a mega-wheeler-style game with two exciting bonus games.
Strategic fit:
Commenting on the new partnership, Yossi Barzeli, Pragmatic Play's director of business development, said...
"This is a fantastic agreement with a leading player in South Africa that strengthens our ambitions in this key market.
"It has been a pleasure working with Playbet to make this happen, and we're sure his players will be thrilled with the influx of quality content coming to them."
For his part, Playbet marketing director George Vasilopoulos explained that the partnership gives their customers access to more than 200 "award-winning, world-class games and promotions" on playbet.co.za and is "very happy" to strengthen their online portfolio "in this way."
CMO expressed "special thanks" to Aardvark and Pragmatic Play "for their excellent development and compliance work."
Growth in Latin America:
As mentioned above, this deal follows the continued expansion of the Malta-based provider in Latin America through a new partnership with Estrelabet across two of its leading verticals.
Further cementing its status as a leading provider in Latin America, the Brazilian operator has expanded its gaming lobby to include Pragmatic Play slots and live casino products, including hits such as Mega Wheel, which gives players the feeling of being on their favorite TV game show, and the Asian themed Dragon Tiger slot, which was launched in early November 2021.
Multi-vertical Advantage:
Victor Arias, who serves as vice president of Latin American operations for Pragmatic Play, said the company's multi-vertical offering allows them to stand out, and they are "enjoying significant success" in Latin America by offering "multiple verticals to operator partners and getting them up and running quickly."
Arias added that they are "extremely excited about the partnership with EstrelaBet, and we can't wait to see where this agreement takes us."
This latest in a series of recent commercial deals, Pragmatic Play has had notable success in Latin America, where its center, based in Argentina, is headed by an iGaming veteran with more than 20 years of experience. The provider continues to make expansion in this region its priority.
Felipe Fraga, director of EstrelaBet (formerly CanUBet before its merger with Grupo Stars), also commented on the agreement, saying.
"We are always striving to improve our online casino offering, and the collaboration with Pragmatic Play allows us to offer our customers three exciting verticals."
"With games for players of all demographics, there's plenty for fans to enjoy, and we look forward to this working partnership."
