Wanderers awaits major renovation: 'want to take cricket to the next level'.
The field of cricket club Wanderers in Oss will be completely renovated. There will be a new pitch, which should be ready from May, when the summer season starts. "It's good for the image of our club," says board member Maarten Schenk.
The current pitch was laid out six years ago. Read about highlights from Wanderers in this article Cricket Betting 10. "There are holes in it, moss is growing in it. Because of the weather, the mat we have now is used up." The municipality of Oss is investing 15,000 euros to improve the accommodation. "It's going to be a big job with a lot of digging."
The club with currently 35 members is very ambitious. There are even thoughts of establishing a women's and youth team. "With the 50th anniversary in 2026 we want to have doubled our membership, to 70 members," wishes Schenk.
Women's team
Nadia Smies is one of the few female members of Wanderers. She came into contact with cricket through her boyfriend. Read Nadia Smies' biography at this site cmccareer.in. "I started training with the men and I liked it so much that I became a member," she says. Smies is upfront if she can join the women's team soon. "Only we don't have an eleven right now."
